Common questions

If yours isn't here, message us at team@prescribernow.com.

Are peptides FDA-approved?+
Most peptides we prescribe (BPC-157, TB-500, sermorelin, CJC-1295, ipamorelin) are NOT FDA-approved as finished products. They are compounded for individual prescription by licensed 503A pharmacies. Tesamorelin is the exception — FDA-approved for HIV-associated lipodystrophy. Your provider will be transparent about this.
Is this safe?+
The peptides we prescribe have been used clinically and in research for years with generally good safety. Long-term data is more limited than for FDA-approved medications. Your provider walks you through what we know and don't know.
Will I show up on a drug test?+
Most peptides won't show on standard drug tests. WADA bans most performance-related peptides — if you compete in tested sports, talk to your provider before starting.
How do I inject?+
Most peptides are subcutaneous (small needle in abdomen or thigh). Your provider walks you through reconstitution, dose drawing, and injection technique. Many patients find it easier than expected after one or two sessions.
What about HGH?+
We do NOT prescribe exogenous recombinant human growth hormone for anti-aging or athletic use — it's outside both FDA labeling and good medical practice. Secretagogues (sermorelin, CJC, ipamorelin) work differently and are appropriate.
What if it doesn't work?+
Honest reality: peptides help some patients meaningfully and others not at all. The evidence base is emerging. We set expectations carefully and pivot if a protocol isn't delivering for you.
