How it works

Three steps. No appointment. No waiting room.

01

Tell us what's wrong

Answer a short eye-specific intake — symptoms, how long, which eye, contact lens use, any allergies. Upload a photo of the eye if you can.

On your phone
02

A real provider reviews it

A licensed clinician on our team reads your chart, confirms identity, and decides whether a prescription is appropriate. They may message you if they need more info.

No appointment
03

Rx faxed to your pharmacy

The prescription is signed and faxed straight to the pharmacy of your choice. You'll get a confirmation email with the Rx details and pickup instructions.

When to skip us and go to the ER instead

Telehealth is great for common eye issues. It is not appropriate for emergencies. Please go to an emergency room, urgent care, or ophthalmologist immediately if you have:

  • Sudden vision loss or sudden change in vision
  • Severe eye pain
  • An injury to the eye (chemical splash, blunt force, foreign body)
  • Light sensitivity with a severe headache
  • Blood pooling visibly inside the eye (hyphema)

Common questions

If yours isn't here, message us at team@prescribernow.com.

When will I hear back?+
There's no appointment to wait for. As soon as your chart is claimed by a provider, they review it and either prescribe, message you for more info, or refer you for in-person care. You'll get an email the moment they take action. After-hours intakes are reviewed the next business day.
Can you prescribe for pink eye without seeing me on video?+
Yes, in most cases. Pink eye is one of the conditions best suited to asynchronous telehealth — a careful symptom history and a photo (when available) are usually enough for a competent provider to decide between bacterial, viral, and allergic causes. If your provider needs more information, they'll message you or schedule a video visit as part of the same visit.
I wear contact lenses. Is that a problem?+
Tell your provider — most eye drops require stopping contact lens use for the duration of treatment. Some drops are safe to use with lenses (or you can put lenses in 15 minutes after the drop). Your provider will give you specific instructions on the Rx.
Will you refill my Restasis / Xiidra / glaucoma drops?+
Often yes. Bring the bottle name and strength, the prescribing doctor (if you remember), and your most recent ophthalmologist visit date. For glaucoma drops we strongly prefer you also have a recent intraocular pressure reading from an eye doctor — we can bridge between visits but we're not a substitute for periodic ophthalmologist follow-up.
What if my provider decides I shouldn't get a prescription?+
If your provider declines, they'll explain why and tell you where to go next (in-person urgent care, an ophthalmologist, or the ER if appropriate). We never push a prescription that isn't right for you.
Is this HIPAA-compliant?+
Yes. Your intake, chart, and messages are encrypted at rest and in transit. Every access is audit-logged. We only share your PHI with your chosen pharmacy and your provider. Our full notice of privacy practices is in our privacy policy.
What about children?+
PrescriberNow is for patients 18 and older. For kids with pink eye or other eye issues, please see your pediatrician or a local urgent care.
